This is the "why?" of the document. Explain the drivers behind it and the goal of the proven practice.

 

Intended Audience

 

This is the "where and who?" of the document. Explain the organization, the size of VI, the roles targeted.

 

Outline

 

This outline the "what?" of the document. Provide a number list of headers in the main practice.

 

Author

 

Company logo, company bio, company url

Author name, author bio, author email

Document Template

 

  1. Get your source information in Word and save images in .png format ready for upload

  2. Use this template as a basis for your new document.

  3. Copy and paste your source information into the new document.

  4. If you want to collaborate on the doc with others before it is published, then do this:

    1. Open Collaboration at the bottom of the doc, and add their names in the Edit box - comma separated.

    2. Click Save Draft - they will get an email about the doc, but you should send them a link to the doc with a nicer email - use the Send as email action in the top right.

  5. Once you are all happy with the doc, you can just click Submit for Approval and it will be checked for

    1. Is it in the template

    2. Is it relevant for VIOPS

    3. Is it prescriptive, actionable, unambiguous?

    4. Is it marketecture (automatic decline)

  6. If you get a Reject, then read the guidance from the approver and work to make the changes.

  7. If you get an Approved, then work to promote your proven practice, first step is to get it highlighted on the front page of the zone via a zone blog entry - email the approver, who should be able to help
