I already started the guide for clustering Windows 2008 VMs using SFW HA 5.1. It will be online in a little while. Will let you know when it comes out.

I'd like to read how it is done on Windows platform.

Soon I will have to rewrite my article to include some pictures + indepth analysis of each step

Has anybody come up or started a Veritas Cluster Guide on ESX? Clustering VMs with Veritas in either the same ESX host or on different host that is. If not, I can contribute the guide using SFW 4.3 and SFW 5.1 on Windows 2003 and Windows 2008.

Any takers? I will start working on it as soon as somebody confirms nobody else is working on one. I would hate to duplicate efforts.

I remember when Oracle had VMware VM templates on the Oracle Technology website for free download to create a simple, two-node RAC cluster on a laptop or small desktop. I actually installed and configured this myself while I was at NetApp, in early Oracle 10g Release 1 days. Of course, the hardening of Oracle's position with respect to VMware quickly put a stop to that. This fills the gap left by that removal nicely. Thanks very much.

Well I can write document about Veritas Cluster and Veritas Volume Manager but its not proven practice since I dont have x86 architecture licence for Storage Foundation only for SPARC architecture but I guess it would be same as on SPARC (Solaris 9 was last distribution I setuped Veritas on)
